Get Ready for New Year’s Eve
The film, not the holiday

Clearly besotted with the idea of multi-star casts popping in for quick anthology storylines as with the upcoming Valentine’s Day, New Line and Warners is pushing ahead with development on a semi-follow-up titled New Year’s Eve.
Though Warners will naturally hold off on flashing the green light until Valentine’s has its day at the box office, the companies have already commissioned a script from the film’s writer, Katherine Fugate, based on ideas generated during shooting.
Fugate has delivered a draft which Valentine’s Day director Gary Marshall is expected to return to handle and apparently some of the characters – played by the likes of Anne Hathaway, Bradley Cooper, Jamie Foxx, Julia Roberts, Ashton Kutcher and Taylor Lautner – will cross over in the new film, set, unsurprisingly around the stroke of midnight.
The secret to the films’ relatively low budget is having the various talent show up for small chunks of the story, allowing them to work cheap for a few days before getting back to bigger, costlier projects.
It remains to be seen if the formula works, but since the first movie is targeted to launch just before cupid’s favourite holiday (12 February here and across the pond), it’s certainly in with a shot. Anyone for Shrove Tuesday starring Julie Walters, Ricky Gervais and the dog from the Churchill ads?

Holiday-Themed Rom Coms to Haunt Us Forever
Though the star-studded romantic comedy Valentine’s Day hasn’t even hit theaters yet, the sequel is already on its way. The script to the follow up, titled New Year's Eve (seriously), has already been penned by Valentine’s Day scribe Katherine Fugate, and will soon be reviewed by Warner Bros. studio execs.
The sequel will reportedly be helmed by Valentine’s Day director Gary Marshall and will feature many of the same cast members, a group that includes Julia Roberts, Jennifer Garner, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher and like 45 others. It seems we’re stuck with holiday-themed ensemble blockbusters for a long time, you guys: prepare yourselves for a Selena Gomez-fronted “Columbus Day” come 2014.

Re: Get Ready for New Year’s Eve
Justin Bieber Lined Up For Valentine's Day Sequel
Justin Bieber is being lined up to star in the sequel to Valentine’s Day.
The film’s director Garry Marshall is currently working on a second film, titled New Year’s Eve. The script has been written and Garry is now looking for big names to add to the star-studded cast.
He has revealed his production team are constantly telling him to get in contact with the 16-year-old Canadian pop star and offer him a role in the new film. Garry admits he still isn’t sure who Justin is, but is hoping he will agree to star in the movie.
“Already, they're mentioning Justin Bieber,” Garry laughed. “I have no idea who that is, but I'm sure we'll meet. I have a script. I did a rewrite. We're rewriting it now.
“It's supposed to shoot in New York in September. It's supposed to be a similar cast of a number of stars. It's written like that, but we hope to get all new stars.
“I hear they keep mentioning this Justin Bieber. Perhaps I'd better see who he is, so when he arrives on set, possibly [we can talk]. So we'll see.”
Valentine’s Day was a romantic comedy released earlier this year. It starred a host of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Taylor Lautner, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Bradley Cooper, Ashton Kutcher, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner, Queen Latifah and Julia Roberts.

this is kind of disgusting, if you ask me. casting someone who is not even known by the director himself just because he's having his 15 minutes of mega-stardom... well we can be sure julia won't be in it.
